Edit Windows Registry The Windows Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE) is packed along with Windows, but a shortcut for the same is not available in the Start Menu. To Open the windows Registry Editor, just click Start>Run and type "regedit" and press enter. If the Registry Editor is installed and necessary permissions are available, a window is opened which is the registry explorer.
On the left hand side of the window there are many floders with a tree structure. You can expand this tree and change the values of the corresponding registry Keys in the right hand side of the Registy Editor.
